IPS officer Shibash Kabiraj takes charge as Gurugram Police commissioner; reviews law and order situation
Senior IPS officer Shibash Kabiraj has taken charge as Commissioner of Police in Gurugram, prioritising public safety, effective response, and tackling key issues like women's safety, cybercrime, and drug abuse.

Senior IPS officer Shibash Kabiraj assumed charge as Commissioner of Police, Gurugram, on Wednesday.
Following his recent transfer from Panchkula district, Kabiraj is an experienced, efficient and dedicated officer who has made significant contributions to law and order, crime control and police administration while discharging various important responsibilities during his service, an official statement said.
According to the statement, upon assuming office, Kabiraj held a meeting with senior Gurugram Police officers and conducted a detailed review of law and order, crime control, women's safety, cybercrime prevention, and police operations.
He directed officers to work with full commitment to ensure public safety, make police response more effective, and establish better coordination with public.
''Every possible effort will be made to free Gurugram from crime. Women's safety, the rise in cybercrime, and drug abuse will remain his top priorities. The police administration will also make every effort to improve traffic management and prevent road accidents. All complaints will be heard on a priority basis and resolved as quickly as possible,'' Kabiraj said.
He further said Gurugram is an important and sensitive city where maintaining strong law and order and ensuring citizen safety is a top priority.
''Gurugram Police will continue to work with transparency, sensitivity, and professionalism to effectively control crime and further strengthen public confidence'', he said. ARB.
