​The co-chair ​of ‌the European Parliament's ​Green group Bas Eickhout said ‌on Wednesday he decided to quit his post and as lawmaker ‌altogether. * He also said he no ⁠longer had enough energy to ⁠keep leading ⁠the party after spending 17 years in ‌the ‌European Parliament.

​The co-chair ​of ‌the European Parliament's ​Green group Bas Eickhout said ‌on Wednesday he decided to quit his post and as lawmaker ‌altogether. * Eickhout, who is ‌Dutch, said in a post on X he had "not always done ⁠the ​right ⁠thing" and acknowledged "relationships that (did) not fit with (his) ⁠role."

* "I should not have ​done that, and I take ⁠responsibility for it," he said in ⁠a ​statement, without elaborating. * He also said he no ⁠longer had enough energy to ⁠keep leading ⁠the party after spending 17 years in ‌the ‌European Parliament.
