Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has congratulated Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai on her elevation as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court, calling it a ''historic'' and proud moment for the people of Sikkim.
The chief minister, in a Facebook post, stated that it is a matter of ''immense pride, honour, and happiness'' for the state that Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai is set to assume one of the highest judicial positions in the country.
He highlighted that Justice Rai is the first woman judge from Sikkim to attain the distinguished position of Chief Justice of a high court, describing her elevation as a historic milestone and a reflection of her unwavering dedication, integrity, wisdom, and distinguished service to the judiciary.
Justice Rai is at present a judge of the Sikkim High Court.
Tamang further said that her remarkable achievement would serve as an inspiration to the people of Sikkim and aspiring individuals across the nation.
On behalf of the government and people of Sikkim, the chief minister conveyed his warmest greetings and best wishes to Justice Rai for a successful and exemplary tenure ahead.
He also expressed confidence that under her leadership, the Patna High Court would continue to uphold the highest traditions of justice, fairness, and constitutional values with distinction.
