Bikram Singh Majithia, representing the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), has levied serious accusations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), claiming misuse of governmental resources during the recent civic elections in Punjab. He highlighted interruptions and delays during vote counting as attempts to sway results.
Majithia emphasized that SAD's showing in the Majitha Municipal Council proves significant backing from locals against what he describes as 'government interference'. In the results, AAP emerged victorious with 48% of the municipal wards across Punjab, while Congress followed with a quarter of the total wins.
The counting, which began amidst high security, saw AAP securing 954 wards, Congress 390, followed by SAD with 191, and BJP with 170. Majithia remarked on the unusually slow vote tallying, comparing it unfavorably against swifter assembly and Lok Sabha counts.
