Kewal Singh Dhillon, the newly appointed leader of Punjab's BJP, expressed satisfaction with the party's performance in recent civic polls, despite claims that the AAP misused official resources during the elections.
On his visit to Phagwara, Dhillon stated the BJP is preparing for a stronger showing in the 2027 state assembly elections and aims to replicate its success akin to West Bengal. He also criticized alleged misconduct by the AAP, recounting incidents in Barnala where BJP candidates faced attacks.
Dhillon assured that the BJP intends to overhaul Punjab's agrarian economy by diversifying crop production and ensuring minimum support prices for 21 crops. Highlighting Punjab's dependency on wheat and paddy, he argued for a shift from these water-intensive crops as the state plans future agricultural strategies.
In another event, Dhillon met Gurinder Singh Dhillon, the Radha Soami Satsang Beas sect chief in Amritsar, to discuss party strategies.
