BRS Challenges Revanth Reddy to Honor Poll Promises Before Future Elections

BRS' K T Rama Rao has urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to commit to fulfilling election promises before running in future elections. He criticized the Congress government for not delivering on key pledges and alleged attempts to end the 24-hour free power supply to farmers.

K T Rama Rao, the working president of BRS, has issued a challenge to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, urging him to declare that he will participate in future elections only after implementing all his electoral commitments. These commitments include the six guarantees promised by the Congress party.

Speaking at a party assembly, Rama Rao criticized the Congress government for its lack of accountability, specifically highlighting missed promises like the Indiramma Housing Scheme for the poor and other welfare initiatives pledged during elections. He contended that the government had neglected major election promises, thereby betraying societal expectations.

Rama Rao accused the Congress of planning to end the 24-hour free power policy for farmers by proposing a separate 'Farmers' DISCOM'. He pointed out Revanth Reddy's past remarks that three hours of electricity sufficed for farmers and suggested the new proposal aimed to enforce this view.

Rama Rao concluded by alleging that while the Congress publicly supports free electricity, it is secretly enacting policies that threaten to limit farmers' access to steady power, undermining a key welfare measure by former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao.
