Trump's Intelligence Community Overhaul
U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his desire to the Wall Street Journal for a significant restructuring of the U.S. intelligence community. He instructed acting national intelligence director Bill Pulte to begin downsizing efforts, citing the Office of the Director of National Intelligence as overly large and unnecessary.
U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday told the Wall Street Journal that he wishes to initiate a major restructuring of the U.S. intelligence community.
He instructed acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte to proceed with firing a substantial number of employees as part of this shake-up.
Trump privately communicated to Pulte his belief that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which supervises 18 federal intelligence agencies, is either superfluous or overly large.
