In a sharp rebuke, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has criticized the former BRS government for the incomplete status of the Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme. He accused the BRS of siphoning public funds and delaying crucial development projects during their decade-long rule.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the previous administration spent a massive Rs 1.81 lakh crore on irrigation projects, allocating Rs 1 lakh crore for the Kaleshwaram project, while neglecting the vital Palamuru-Rangareddy scheme. He noted the scheme's potential to supply 90 TMC of water, yet only Rs 27,000 crore was ever spent.
Revanth Reddy called out the ex-government for their excessive expenditure on pump and lift installations, allegedly to extract commissions, and questioned their claims of project completion. He acknowledged financial hurdles but emphasized his commitment to completing the Palamuru district projects, urging the public's patience as history may not be kind to failure.
