In the face of a looming drone attack threat, the Russian city of Nizhnekamsk has announced the cancellation of all public events scheduled for Friday. This news comes from the city's mayor, Radmir Belyayev, via the Telegram messaging app, as the nation prepares to celebrate Russia Day on June 12.

Nizhnekamsk is home to prominent industrial facilities such as Sibur's Nizhnekamskneftekhim petrochemical plant and Tatneft's TANECO oil refinery. Notably, no damage resulting from drone activities was reported, even as the defense ministry confirmed the overnight downing of 231 Ukrainian drones.

Meanwhile, the city of Togliatti, famous for its automotive giant Avtovaz, is also under threat from drones, as reported by Samara region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev. Details remain scarce, yet the growing drone menace underscores the ongoing tensions in the region.
