The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is experiencing a significant political upheaval, as highlighted by Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan on Monday. Addressing the ongoing crisis, Ranjan emphasized that the internal chaos reflects deeper systemic weaknesses within the party, casting doubts on its political accountability and ideological stance.

Ranjan pointed out the departure of 20 Lok Sabha MPs and 3 Rajya Sabha MPs, which she believes raises critical questions regarding their moral responsibility and commitment to national interests over personal political agendas. She remarked on the necessity for the party to conduct introspection in light of these developments.

The crisis has intensified with a faction led by rebel MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar merging with the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) and pledging support to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This move further exacerbates the internal discord, with a substantial section of AITC's strength now aligning separately in Parliament.
