Former BJP leader K Annamalai has expressed concerns over the increased security measures for the NEET-UG retest, set for June 21. While acknowledging efforts to prevent paper leaks, he warned that heightened scrutiny could exacerbate stress among students.
The Ministry of Education has enforced stringent protocols, including CRPF and CISF escorts, airlifts by the Indian Air Force, AI-powered CCTV surveillance, and biometric checks, all of which add to the already formidable exam pressure, Annamalai noted.
He further criticized the extended exam duration from 180 to 195 minutes as an additional burden contrary to the National Education Policy 2020's goal to reduce exam-related stress. Annamalai also highlighted ongoing issues with admit card downloads, a concern the National Testing Agency pledged to address.
Simultaneously, Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress organized a peaceful protest in Agartala, raising issues including NEET irregularities. The demonstration saw participation from numerous party members and supporters, reinforcing calls for attention to student and public concerns.
