Phase 3 of Indian Lok Sabha elections marred with violence; all you need to know

Phase 3 of Indian Lok Sabha elections, which is the largest phase of elections, was marred with various incidents of violence being reported from different parts of India. The incidents were reported from Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh and few other states as well but a significant number of incidents were reported from West Bengal.
Voting began in the third and largest phase of India's staggered Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday. 188 million voters are eligible to cast ballots in 117 constituencies during the day - across 15 states and federally-controlled territories.

The general election, which has seven phases, began on April 11 and will end on May 19. Votes will be counted on May 23.
Violence in Bengal
Bengal has repeatedly been subjected to controversies after ruling BJP urged the Election Commission to deploy central paramilitary forces and install CCTV cameras for smooth conduct of polls in the remaining phases of the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal. Central forces must be deployed "to infuse confidence and a sense of security among voters," the BJP said, urging the EC to declare polling booths as sensitive in the third and fourth phase of polls in Bengal.
The Trinamool Congress is in power in West Bengal and has been accused by the BJP of spreading "terror" to influence voting in its favour.
A man standing in a queue to vote today was killed in clashes between Congress and TMC workers in Baligram, Murshidabad in West Bengal.

Earlier in the day as well there were some reports of violence during polls in Bengal, 2 women voters were injured when a bomb went off in another area of Bengal's Murshidabad.
"Two women voters were injured in an alleged incident of bombing in Murshidabad's Domkal area near a polling booth. Both of them have been hospitalized and we have sought a report on the matter from the district magistrate. No one has been arrested or detained in the case so far," the official said.

Babulal Murmu, a polling agent was found dead in his house in Buniadpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, on Tuesday. His body was found hanging under mysterious circumstances.
