NCP slams MLA Barora for crossing over to Shiv Sena

Taking a swipe at party MLA, Pandurang Barora, for switching his loyalty to the ruling Shiv Sena, the NCP Wednesday wondered if his intention was to attain "samruddhi" (prosperity), a reference to the proposed super highway which will pass through Thane district of which his constituency, Shahpur, is part of. NCP chief spokesperson Nawab Malik made the remark observing the Mumbai-Nagpur Super Communication Expressway, also known as 'Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg', passes through Shahapur in Thane district.
Malik exuded confidence that the NCP's organisational set up in Shahapur is "intact" despite Barora defecting to the Sena and added the opposition party will retain the seat. The Expressway is a planned 701-km eight-lane expressway that will run through ten districts, including Thane.
"People are wondering if he (Barora) switched his loyalty (to the Shiv Sena) to attain samruddhi (prosperity)," Malik quipped. The former minister said Barora's "samruddhi connection" will get exposed at some point of time in future.
Malik further said Barora's move was his "personal decision". "The party organisation is intact there. We will contest the seat with all our might and win," Malik added.
The Maharashtra Assembly polls are due in September-October this year..
