Heavy rains lash parts of Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 10 (PTI) Heavy rains lashed parts of the national capital today causing waterlogging and traffic snarls in some areas.
The Safdarjung observatory recorded 45.4 mm rainfall between 8.30 and 5.30 PM, the Met Department said.
Areas under Lodhi Road and Ridge observatories recorded rainfall of 38 mm and 2 mm respectively during the same span.
Palam and Ayanagar observatories did not record any rainfall during the period.
The maximum temperature settled at 35.8 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average while the minimum temperature was recorded at 28.3 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal.
The humidity oscillated between 100 and 65 per cent.
The Meteorological Department has forecast further rains through the night and light rains for tomorrow.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 34 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, and minimum temperature settled at 28.3 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average.
