28% effluent samples from STPs, Yamuna met set standards: Delhi outcome budget

Only 28 per cent of effluent samples collected from sewage treatment plants, the Yamuna river and drains between March and December last year met the prescribed standards, the Delhi government stated in its 2022-23 outcome budget on Monday.

It said that 78 per cent of the 226 samples collected from common effluent treatment plants met the prescribed standards and around 94 per cent of the 112 samples collected from individual effluent treatment plants met the norms.

Departments concerned resolved over 75 per cent of the complaints (up to December 2022) of anti-pollution norm violations, received through the Green Delhi mobile application.

All the 70 stack samples from industries, power plants, and hotels met the prescribed standards, the government said.

It said that 10.78 lakh saplings have been planted in the forest area up to December against the target of 9.84 lakh saplings during 2022-23. Three city forests have been developed and opened to public against the target of six, it added.
