Minor dies after touching electric pole in UP’s Sultanpur

An eight-year-old boy was electrocuted after touching an electricity pole here on Sunday, police said.

Saurabh Dwivedi, a resident of Chandrakala village, accidentally came in contact with a power pole and died, Sub-Inspector Sanjay Prasad said.

The pole was not properly earthed, he added, adding that the accident occurred when the minor was returning home from the fields in the morning. The body has been sent for post-mortem. The electricity department has also been informed about the incident by the district administration and directed to take necessary action, police said.
