Sukhoi Fighter Jet Crashes in Nashik: Pilots Eject Safely

A Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter plane of the Indian Air Force crashed near Shirasgaon village in Nashik district. The pilot and co-pilot ejected safely, suffering minor injuries. The aircraft, undergoing post-overhaul flight testing, caught fire upon impact. Preliminary information suggests technical factors caused the crash.

On Tuesday, a Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter plane belonging to the Indian Air Force crashed in Maharashtra's Nashik district, police confirmed. The aircraft, undergoing post-overhaul flight testing, crashed at 1.20 pm near Shirasgaon village in Nifad tehsil. Fortunately, both the pilot and co-pilot ejected safely.

Special Inspector General of Nashik Range, D. R. Karale, stated that the pilots, Wing Commander Bokil and his second in command, Biswas, were admitted to the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) hospital and are currently receiving treatment for minor injuries. The aircraft caught fire upon crashing, but the blaze was quickly contained.

The crash scattered parts of the plane within a 500-meter radius. Preliminary reports indicate that technical factors may have led to the mishap. Teams from the Indian Air Force and HAL are investigating the incident further.
