Bengaluru's Parks Open Till 10 PM, Climate Action Programs Launched

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar announced that Bengaluru's parks will now remain open from 5 am to 10 pm, addressing citizens' demands. Climate Action and Resilience Plan (BCAP) initiatives include extensive sapling plantations and open well rejuvenation. Bengaluru joins the global Cities4Forests platform, aiming to enhance its climate resilience.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has announced extended operational hours for Bengaluru’s parks. Starting immediately, the parks will be open from 5 am to 10 pm, following public complaints about midday closures.

Shivakumar discussed climate action initiatives under the Bengaluru Climate Action and Resilience Plan (BCAP). Significant steps include planting lakhs of saplings through the 'Hasiru Rakshaka' project and launching a crowd-sourcing activity to map open wells. Bengaluru is now the fourth Indian city to join the Cities4Forests global platform.

With 1,200 public parks, Bengaluru stands out nationally. The city’s Climate Action Cell will engage young professionals under a new Fellowship program to work on resilience and mitigation projects, marking a dynamic approach toward sustainable urban development.
