In a tragic incident, a 15-year-old boy lost his life after being attacked by a leopard in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, according to local police reports released on Wednesday.
The gruesome event took place on Tuesday night in Bhambarwadi village, within the jurisdiction of the Kannad police station. The young victim, who resided at an ashram in the village, had stepped out to escort someone nearby. It was then that the leopard struck, dragging the boy for approximately 150 feet, a police official disclosed.
A search operation was initiated on Wednesday morning, leading to the discovery of the boy's body. Forest department personnel subsequently examined the remains and confirmed a leopard attack as the cause of death, the official added.
