A massive landslide blocked the Kishtwar-Paddar road on Sunday, following sporadic light to moderate rains in isolated parts of the Jammu division. The downpour brought respite from the intense heat, officials reported.

The landslide near Patharnaki in Kishtwar district halted vehicular movement, prompting authorities to deploy machinery to clear the debris. Rain showers were reported throughout the hilly districts of Kishtwar, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, and Ramban.

Jammu city witnessed light rainfall early Sunday morning and again in the evening, leaving temperatures in a near-normal range with a high of 36 degrees Celsius. The meteorological department forecasts continued light to moderate rains, with heavy showers expected from July 4 to 7.
