Heavy rains lashed parts of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, causing the closure of 12 key roads in the state, according to officials.
The meteorological department reported that Baijnath was the hardest hit, receiving 32 mm of rain since Friday evening. Other affected areas include Dharamshala with 22.6 mm, Jubbarhatti with 21.5 mm, and Manali with 20 mm.
The state has experienced intermittent rainfall since the onset of the monsoon season. As of Saturday evening, five roads in Mandi, four in Shimla, and three in Kangra are closed. A 'yellow' warning has been issued for heavy rains, thunderstorms, and lightning on July 16 and 17, with a wet spell expected to last until July 19. The Met department also warned of potential damage to crops, vulnerable structures, and traffic disruptions.
