Karnataka Invests in Bengaluru's Long-lasting Road Infrastructure

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar announced a Rs 1,800 crore investment for white topping 157 km of Bengaluru roads, aiming to make them pothole-free and durable for 25 years. The initiative, part of 'Sugama Sanchara Bengaluru' and 'Brand Bengaluru,' recently saw the inauguration of a 19.67 km stretch.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Monday announced that the government is investing Rs 1,800 crore to white top 157 km of Bengaluru roads. This initiative aims to make the roads pothole-free and ensure they last approximately 25 years.

Shivakumar, who also serves as the Bengaluru Development Minister, stated that the roads in Bengaluru are highly prone to potholes. Under the 'Sugama Sanchara Bengaluru' and 'Brand Bengaluru' initiatives, the white topping project is set to mitigate this issue.

In a related event, Shivakumar inaugurated the white topping of a 19.67 km stretch of roads covering Chamarajpet, Gandhinagar, Malleshwaram, and Mahalakshmipura areas, which was completed at a cost of Rs 200 crore. 'We are committed to completing the works within the specified deadline and ensuring the best quality,' he remarked.
