In a tragic sequence of events, two minor boys and a man lost their lives due to drowning in separate accidents in Sheopur and Betul districts of Madhya Pradesh, police reported on Wednesday.

In Sheopur, two cousins aged 12 and 17 went for a bath in a rain-water-filled stone mine in Occhapur village on Wednesday morning, leading to their untimely demise, according to Ochhapur police station in-charge Jai Singh Raghuvanshi. 'One of them ventured into deep water, and the other tried to save him, but both drowned,' he said. A local herdsman alerted villagers about the incident; however, the boys' bodies were later recovered and sent for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, in Betul district, a 39-year-old man named Guddu Kawanpure tragically drowned after slipping into a well while fetching water in Masod village on Tuesday, disclosed Multai police station in-charge Rajesh Satankar. Villagers tried to rescue him but were unable to save his life, police added.
