Heavy overnight rains in Chamoli's Tharali area washed out a motor trolley on the Dungri-Ratgaon motor road, cutting off the Ghurad-Ghumti village from the rest of the district, according to the District Disaster Management Centre.

The incident occurred near Dhadarbagad and has isolated approximately 75 residents of the village. Anyone wishing to enter or exit the village now faces an extra six-kilometer trek.

The community is now urgently seeking solutions to reconnect the village with the district due to the critical impact on mobility and access to essential services.
