60 Picnickers Rescued Amid Heavy Rains in Navi Mumbai

Sixty picnickers were rescued from rising waters after being stranded on a hill in Navi Mumbai during heavy rains. The rescue operation in Belapur was conducted by the fire brigade, police, and disaster management teams using ropes. New rainfall caused widespread water-logging in the metropolitan area.

In Navi Mumbai, 60 picnickers were rescued on Sunday after becoming stranded amidst heavy rainfall. The dramatic incident occurred in Belapur node, known for its scenic hill behind Artist Colony.

Officials reported that Navi Mumbai received 83.38 mm of rainfall in just five hours, leading to extensive water-logging in areas such as Vashi, Nerul, and Sanpada. Rescue efforts were swiftly initiated by the fire brigade, police, and Navi Mumbai disaster management teams.

The rescue operation utilized ropes to safely evacuate the picnickers. Additionally, efforts are underway to rescue individuals trapped behind an industrial unit in Turbhe area. Continuous heavy rains have caused significant flooding throughout Mumbai and its metropolitan region since early Sunday morning.
