The Tata group’s hospitality arm IHCL signed an agreement with the Jharkhand government on Wednesday to develop a Taj hotel in Ranchi with a projected investment of Rs 400 crore.

Spanning six acres and featuring 200 rooms, this greenfield project marks Indian Hotels Company Ltd’s (IHCL) sixth venture in the state, complementing existing Vivanta and Ginger properties.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren hailed the initiative as a milestone, noting its potential to enhance tourism, create jobs, and elevate Jharkhand’s global profile. Approximately 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities are anticipated.
