Two individuals are feared dead after entering the Barvi Dam in Thane district on Thursday amid heavy rains, an official stated.

Identified as Ganesh Chindu Kene (35) of Dongarnhave and Dyaneshwar Budhaji Gondhali (35) of Shastri Nagar in Dudhalepada, the victims may have been swept away by the swelling waters. A search operation is currently underway.

Details on how the men ended up in the dam during heavy rains are still unclear, according to a district official.
