Acropolis Mall, a prominent shopping center in south Kolkata, is gearing up to reopen on August 3 after being shut down for nearly six weeks due to a major fire incident, an official confirmed on Tuesday.

Fire safety work has been completed, and almost 90% of the mall will be operational. Some stores, including Hoppipola, Chili's, and Time Zone, will open later as they undergo renovations. General Manager Subhadip Basu stated that the mall had received all necessary permissions from the fire department.

The mall is significant to the local economy, employing over 4,000 people and housing more than 110 outlets. Its closure had a considerable impact on local businesses. Since receiving fire department clearance on July 29, the mall has been conducting deep cleaning, mock fire safety drills, and notifying retailers about the reopening.
