Himachal Pradesh Flash Floods: Rescue Operations Ongoing Amid Rising Death Toll

Over 45 people are missing and the death toll has risen to eight after flash floods, triggered by cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh. Rescue operations are ongoing with personnel from multiple agencies. Rescue operations are underway to locate more than 45 individuals who went missing following flash floods caused by cloudbursts in three Himachal Pradesh districts. The flash floods have claimed eight lives so far, with new bodies being recovered hourly. Authorities are grappling with the extensive damage in the affected regions.

In the Nirmand, Sainj, and Malana areas of Kullu, Padhar in Mandi, and Rampur in Shimla districts, the situation remains grim as families wait for news about the missing. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Education Minister Rohit Thakur have visited the affected areas to assess the damage and speak with victims.

Additional forces including the Army, NDRF, ITBP, and local police are involved in the large-scale rescue operations, utilizing drones to traverse the difficult terrain. Meanwhile, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has voiced her concerns and is seeking federal assistance for the state.
