Uttarakhand Rescue: IAF Helicopters Evacuate Stranded Kedarnath Pilgrims

IAF's Chinook and MI17 helicopters joined rescue efforts in Uttarakhand to evacuate pilgrims stranded on the trek route to Kedarnath after a cloudburst caused extensive damage. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that over 5,000 people were rescued, with support from NDRF and SDRF teams. Food and water are being distributed among the stranded, and medical aid is provided.

In a significant rescue operation in Uttarakhand, IAF's Chinook and MI17 helicopters have evacuated pilgrims stranded on the trek route to Kedarnath following a severe cloudburst.

The torrential rains caused extensive damage to the trek route, leaving thousands of pilgrims stranded. Rescue operations, spearheaded by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, saw over 5,000 people being airlifted to safety with assistance from NDRF and SDRF teams.

Essential supplies, including 18,000 food packets and 35,000 water bottles, have been distributed among those stranded. Medical care was provided to 286 people. The Kedarnath yatra remains on hold, and officials ensure the safe evacuation of all pilgrims.
