Over 84% of India's districts are susceptible to severe heat waves, and 70% are witnessing a rise in extreme rainfall events, a new report reveals.

The analysis titled 'Managing Monsoons in a Warming Climate' by IPE Global Limited and Esri India Technologies highlights the extended summer-like conditions during the June-September monsoon season.

According to Abinash Mohanty, head of Climate Change and Sustainability Practice at IPE Global Limited, eight out of ten Indians will be highly exposed to extreme events by 2036. He calls for the adoption of hyper-granular risk assessments and climate-risk observatories for national resilience.
