Maharashtra Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha has raised alarms over the growing traffic congestion in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), advocating for the removal of bicycle lanes and a reduction in barriers set up for Metro construction.
Shiv Sena UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray disagrees, stressing the need for a comprehensive study of emerging traffic patterns with the influx of new offices in the area.
Bicycle lanes in BKC, a significant business district, were established in 2011. Lodha has suggested merging these lanes with the road to ease congestion and proposing the construction of a separate cycle track on nearby plots.
