Monsoon Havoc: 100 Lives Lost and Infrastructure Paralyzed

Since the onset of monsoon on June 27, heavy rains have claimed 100 lives and severely impacted the state's infrastructure, with 97 roads currently closed, officials confirmed on Thursday.
The Meteorological Department has issued an 'orange' warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, affecting Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts on Saturday.
The State Emergency Operation Centre reported various causes of casualties, including falls, accidental drownings, and electrocutions. Mandi district was the hardest hit with 21 deaths. The Met office also warned of potential flash floods and landslides in several districts over the next 24 hours.
