Three Go Missing After Sudden River Surge in Jharkhand

Three individuals, including two women and a 12-year-old boy, went missing after a sudden rise in the water level of a river in Jharkhand's Latehar district. The incident occurred while they were crossing the river on foot. Despite search efforts, they remain untraced as of Monday morning.

The incident took place on Sunday evening in Bisanpur village, under the jurisdiction of Balumath police station.

Efforts to locate the missing individuals were hindered by darkness, according to Balumath police station in-charge Vikrant Upadhyay. The search operation resumed early Monday morning.

Local resident Jagannath Sahu stated that seven people from Bishanpur village had gone to graze goats in the Balbal forest. While returning home, the group began crossing the Balbal river on foot, as the water level was initially low. Tragically, the water flow increased suddenly, sweeping away three members of the group.
