Heavy rains lashed numerous parts of Punjab and Haryana on Thursday, providing much-needed relief from the prevailing humid conditions.

In Punjab, Pathankot recorded the highest rainfall with 16 mm, followed by Patiala at 6 mm, Bathinda at 8 mm, Sangrur at 4 mm, and Mohali at 2 mm, the Met office reported.

Meanwhile, in Haryana, Rohtak saw 21 mm of rainfall, Bhiwani recorded 16 mm, Narnaul received 13 mm, Jind got 9 mm, Panchkula had 7 mm, Hisar recorded 1.5 mm, and Ambala received 0.2 mm. Chandigarh, the shared capital, recorded 2 mm of rain.
