Tragic Flood: Man Dies in Himachal Pradesh's Solan District

A man named Shashi Pal died in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district after being swept away by strong water currents in a flooded drain. The incident happened while he was travelling on a motorcycle. Despite prompt police action and involvement of the NDRF, his body was recovered two kilometres away.

A man tragically lost his life in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district after being swept away by strong water currents in a flooded drain, police reported on Wednesday.

The ill-fated incident occurred on Tuesday night when Shashi Pal was travelling from his village, Manjyari, to Ramsahar in the Baddi area on his motorcycle.

Pal was crossing a bridge over the Kattal Nullah when he was swept away by the surging waters due to heavy rainfall, according to police authorities.

Upon getting information about the accident, a police team immediately rushed to the site but could not trace Pal initially.

Baddi SP Ilma Afroz promptly contacted the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and a rescue operation was initiated.

The NDRF team located the victim's body at Dharmana Kund, two kilometres from the location where he fell into the water.

Afroz noted that the body had been sent to the community health centre for a postmortem examination.
