President Murmu Applauds ISRO's Pledge for Debris-Free Space Missions by 2030

President Droupadi Murmu on Friday raised concerns about the rising problem of space debris resulting from numerous satellites in orbit, while commending ISRO’s target to achieve debris-free space missions by 2030.
Murmu was speaking at the inaugural National Space Day celebrations, marking the first anniversary of India's Chandrayaan-3 project landing. The event, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, saw the presence of Union Minister Jitendra Singh, ISRO Chairman S Somanath, engineers, scientists, and space industry representatives.
The President lauded the ISRO System for Safe & Sustainable Operations Management facility for ensuring continuous progress in space research. She also presented awards to winners of the Robotics Challenge and the Bharatiya Antariksh Hackathon.
