Four Arrested for Smuggling Protected Pangolin in Chhattisgarh

Four individuals have been arrested in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district on charges of smuggling a pangolin, a highly protected species, an official from the forest department reported on Monday.

The suspects were apprehended on Sunday while traveling along the Karpavand-Kolaval route, near the Odisha border.

According to the official, the accused were transporting the pangolin from Odisha to Bastar for illegal sale. Authorities seized the pangolin and two motorcycles used by the suspects. A case has been filed under the Wildlife Protection Act.
