Cold weather with a minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bengaluru, with fog affecting flights, officials said on Monday. While the minimum temperature was 12.9 degrees Celsius in the city, the maximum temperature stood at 31.7 degrees Celsius, according to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC).
Cold waves from the northern part of the country towards the south have brought down the temperatures in the city, which is likely to continue till January 10, KSNDMC Director G.S. Srinivasa Reddy told IANS earlier. The departure of 41 flights and arrival of one flight was delayed as a result of the fog during morning hours, the Bengaluru International Airport Ltd (BIAL) said. The airport, which sees an average of 300 arrivals and departures each day, also suspended its operations from 6.41 a.m. to 7.23 a.m. due to low visibility.
