In a call for change, Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena emphasized the significance of Delhi’s new leadership and its potential to transform the city positively. Addressing the 'Samvaad with Swachhta Sainiks' event, Saxena acknowledged the efforts of sanitation workers and stressed the citizen's role in shaping Delhi’s cleanliness.
Saxena pointed out the evident disparities in the city's upkeep, noting that while areas under the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) are well-maintained, others lag behind. He assured residents that the ambition is to elevate the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) areas to the aesthetic standards of NDMC zones.
Saxena lauded the dedication shown by the MCD's 50,000-strong workforce during challenging times, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the Yamuna floods. He urged Delhiites to match this commitment by actively participating in maintaining the city's appearance and infrastructure.
