Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her ministers convened a meeting on Saturday to address budget preparations and the launch of the Mahila Samriddhi Yojna. This scheme, a BJP election promise, aims to provide Rs 2,500 monthly to women in Delhi. Officials were tasked with creating guidelines and comparing similar programs in other states.
During the session, an overview of Delhi's government budget was presented, stressing the importance of spending efficiently for public benefit. Discussions also covered the repair of roads, flyovers, and strategies to mitigate waterlogging during the rainy season.
The opposition AAP criticized the BJP for not approving the Mahila Samriddhi Yojna in their initial Cabinet meeting. Meanwhile, field visits by cabinet ministers, including PWD minister Parvesh Verma and Education and Urban Development minister Ashish Sood, focused on assessing ongoing projects throughout the city.
