In a tragic incident at the Focal Point area, a building collapse in a textile factory has resulted in the death of two workers. Rescue operations, involving the National Disaster Response Force, police, and fire services, are in full swing as one more worker remains trapped beneath the debris.
The incident, which unfolded on Saturday night, reportedly began with a loud sound before the building gave way. As detailed by officials, the collapse was attributed to ongoing repair work, which may have resulted in a pillar failure.
Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal has announced a magisterial investigation to determine the precise cause of the disaster. Authorities have registered an FIR and assured compensation for the families of the deceased, while medical costs for injured workers will be covered by the government.
