Rajasthan has seen a significant increase in electronic waste since 2018-19, prompting the state government to implement a comprehensive E-waste management policy. With 21,953.55 metric tonnes of E-waste generated annually, Rajasthan has established 23 processing units and created an Integrated Resources Recovery Park in Jaipur to tackle the growing issue.

Rajasthan, facing a surge in electronic waste since 2018, has taken steps to control the issue with a dedicated policy, according to details shared in the state Assembly. An average of 21,953.55 metric tonnes of E-waste has been collected annually since 2018, indicative of a growing environmental concern.

The state's Environment and Climate Change Department reported a sharp rise in E-waste generation, with figures climbing from 8,478.26 metric tonnes in 2018-19 to 25,702.46 metric tonnes in 2023-24. To address this, Rajasthan has operationalized 23 units dedicated to recycling, dismantling, and refurbishing E-waste.

Moreover, an Integrated Resources Recovery Park has been set up in Tholai village, Jaipur, aimed at accommodating units converting E-waste and other hazardous materials into power. With the adoption of the Rajasthan E-waste Management Policy, 2023, the government aims to maximize waste collection and establish sustainable management practices.
