A 37-year-old man has died after falling into a water-filled pothole on a government-maintained roadway in Delhi, officials reported Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Rashid Khan, was discovered unresponsive on the road with a head injury late Monday. Investigations revealed that he may have fallen headfirst into the hazardous pothole, leading to fatal injuries or possible drowning. His motorcycle and helmet were found nearby at the scene.

Authorities have registered a case under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and are investigating potential causes, such as a vehicle collision or loss of balance, which may have led to the accident. Khan's body has been returned to his family following necessary formalities.
