A fatal fire erupted in Junagadh, Gujarat, after an underground gas pipeline was breached during excavation work, claiming three lives, including a mother and her young daughter, police reported.
The fire injured six people, with severe burns marking the tragic incident. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Charansinh Gohil confirmed the casualties took place on Jhanjarda Road, with the local fire department quickly containing the flames. An investigation has been initiated by the district collector to hold those responsible accountable.
Victims' families will receive compensation under a government scheme. The deceased were identified as Rupiben Solanki (39), her daughter Bhakti (3), and Hareshbhai Rabadia, authority sources confirmed.
