Reviving Nagada: Odisha's Persistent Development Journey

Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary of Odisha, recently visited Nagada village in Jajpur district to evaluate the advancements made in development projects initiated by the government. His visit included assessing the progress in housing, health, and education facilities in the region.

Ahuja's visit comes after the tragic death of 19 children due to malnutrition in 2016. As the nodal officer from that time, his return highlights ongoing challenges and new directives aimed at expediting development efforts, including the completion of housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

While acknowledging achievements, Ahuja also identified areas in need of urgent attention, such as water conservation and student attendance. He directed officials to reopen the tribal hostel and expedite land ownership certification under the Forest Rights Act to empower local farmers.
