Daniel McCarty, the executive officer of the Philadelphia Fire Department, confirmed that around five homes suffered extensive damage, with some structures collapsing. Rescue efforts led to the hospitalization of two individuals, one in stable condition and the other critically injured.

"The biggest thing is the stability of the surrounding houses, making sure that this hazard doesn't spread," McCarty emphasized.
