The southwest monsoon continues to batter Rajasthan, severely affecting normal life across several regions. On Thursday, heavy rainfall was recorded, with Jalore experiencing the most at 136.5 mm, according to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre.
Apart from Jalore, other areas such as Sikar (22 mm), Vanasthali (19 mm), Jhunjhunu (18.5 mm), and Jodhpur (17.3 mm) also witnessed substantial downpours. The intense and continuous rain has led to waterlogging in multiple low-lying areas, particularly in eastern Rajasthan.
Forecasters with the Met department indicate that monsoon activities will persist across Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Bikaner divisions over the next few days, with potential for heavy to very heavy rainfall in certain locations.
