In the wake of a devastating flash flood in Dharali, rescue teams, supported by sniffer dogs and drones, are in a race against time to locate missing persons buried under debris. As of Friday, 566 individuals have been rescued, but many remain unaccounted for in this disaster-hit Uttarakhand village.
The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority reports that 16 people, including nine Army personnel, are still missing. The rescue operations involve over 800 personnel, including the Army, ITBP, NDRF, and SDRF, using advanced equipment and helicopters for an exhaustive search.
Efforts are focused on restoring road and communication connectivity to facilitate the transportation of food and medical supplies. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is actively overseeing the efforts to ensure rapid recovery and support for affected individuals.
