Mysterious Death of Leopard in Cauvery Wildlife
A female leopard was found deceased in a rock cave at Cauvery Wildlife Division in Hanur taluk. Discovered by forest staff during patrols, the leopard's cause of death is yet to be determined pending an autopsy report. This marks the second leopard death in the region recently.

In a tragic discovery, a female leopard was found dead within a rock cave at the Cauvery Wildlife Division, located in Hanur taluk of this district, as per officials on Tuesday.
Estimated to be about five to six years old, the leopard was located in the Mekedatu forest area of the Hanur wildlife range during a patrol conducted by the department staff on August 17, according to a senior forest officer.
While the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed, an autopsy has been completed, and the official report is awaited. This incident follows a previous discovery in July of a leopard carcass at a stone quarry near Kothalavadi village within the BRT Tiger Reserve in Chamarajanagara district.
